Domain Credentials Cache location

Hi. I'm troubled about the security of the directory where Windows stores the
cached credentials used when the domain controller are not available.

Where is the exact default location on the disk? I've read a lot about this
but I haven't seen the location or recommendations regardind file system
permissions hardening. Futhermore, I'd like to know precisely how it's this
information encrypted by de OS and with which encryption algorithm.

Thanks so much!

Carlos Tapia.

Hi,

I believe what you are looking for is under this path:

x:\Documents and Settings\profilename\NTUSER.DAT

Espero que esta informacion sea util,
