Error al encender la portatil

Ayuda Hacer una pregunta
Que tal.

Les platico. Estaba trabajando perfectamente en la portatil, la apague y
cuando la quice utilizar de nuevo me aparece el siguiente mensaje al
encenderla (antes de que aparezca el logo de Windows XP).

Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM

You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the
original Setup CD-ROM.
Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair.

Agradezco cualquier ayuda.
