Certainly it is possible. Be sure tu upgrade Off97 with the service release
and pack immediately.

You have to consider that there is no official support or any Microsoft
documentation about this scenario.
I recommend to install it as Administrator or any account with full
privileges.
Some new advantages of Windows XP won't work with Off97, i.e.
high-resolution icons.
And there could be some issues with shared functions (like spelling) and you
should reinstall Office 97 in order to fix them.
