Panel de control/firewall, click en la pestaña opciones avanzadas, click
en configuracion ICMP, y destilda la opcion "permitir solicitud de eco
entrante". Ten cuidado, puesto que hay alguno ISP, que hacen ping para
comprobar si la conectividad, y en el caso de que no se produzca
respuesta te desconectan.

En general, permitir ICMP, no es perjudicial, simplemente da información
sobre si un determinado host está disponible o no.
