WUpdate

Gracias y saludos.

Dear Espanolo Ladies and Gentlemen,
I experienced the same problem: the updates for Office 2003

KB 919031, KB 917151, KB 918419, KB 914455

could not be installed on my father's computer with Windows XP, despite
repeated attempts.

Last week I used registry cleaners by TuneUp and Registry First Aid
(Reg1aid). Both of these programs allow the changes to be undone -
typically you simply click at .REG files identified with a date and
time and the changes are reverted.

I eventually did so. In fact, the previous changes did not shorten the
registry too much anyway. My guess is that it was Reg1aid that was
behaving inappropriately. These registry cleaners can sometimes erase
registry entries that look useless - because they are "empty" - but
they are actually essential.

The same comment applied to another program, HP image zone, that became
partially damaged after the registry cleaner procedures.

Back to the office updates. After I undid all the changes to the
registry made by Reg1aid, the updates could have been installed
successfully. Everyone who has been recently playing with registry
cleaners and can't install the updates is urged to undo the changes to
the registry made by the cleaner - most cleaners have tools to revert
the changes.

Good luck

Yo no he usado ningún 'limpiador de registros', no me gustan porque nunca
sabes
bajando.
Saludos.
