Vale, creo que se cual es el problema... el acceso no se deniega a la
biblioteca, es decir, no es que falle el proceso de copia, lo que falla es
el proceso de consulta al registro, por una deficiente configuracion en los
permisos que tengas configurados, hay un articulo de la KB que describe
esta incidencia y su solucion, lamentablemente, Javier, los articulos de la
KB creo que andan de remodelacion, porque solo es posible encontrarlo en
Japones, por si te aclaras con el idioma de los nipones, te los dejo:

No obstante, por si no comprendieras muy bien, lo que dice el articulo te
describo mas o menos lo que comentan, veras, en el directorio de windows,
justamente de donde has sacado este log que nos has posteado encontrarás
otro archivo llamado "setuapi.log" (si la memoria no me falla), en este
archivo vas a ver unas claves del registro que durante el proceso de
instalacion del SP2 no pueden ser consultadas, la historia es la siguiente:

1. Encontrar el archivo "setuapi.log", y revisar las claves cuya informacion
no puede ser consultada.
2. ir al registro, (inicio/ejecutar/"regedit") buscar las claves que
aparecen en el log, revisandolas una a una y cambiarles los permisos en
ellas deben aparecer dos usuarios por defecto con "control total", unos son
los usuarios "administradores" y otro el usuario "system", estos usuarios
debe aparecer en todas las ramas que se relacionan en el log "setuapi" y en
en sus subrama o ramas hijas.

Una vez verificado este proceso, intenta otra vez instalar el SP2, la
instalacion ahora no debería darte problema, pero si te los siguiera dando,
puedes resetear los permisos por defecto de winxp siguiendo lo que
mencionan en este otro arituclo de la KB.

En fin, que al final me parece que la cosa no va por el tema de los
drivers... revisa lo del registro y comentanos.
