I am using windows XP. When I click on any of my shortcuts to internet
sites I get the following dialog...
This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this
action. Create an association in Folder Options Control Panel.
Can anyone tell me how to go about this??? Problem occured after deleting
some ISP connection software.

Roy

Hello Roy,
You will need to run an antispy/adware soft, like Ad-aware and/or Spybot S&D, before repair the links, be carefull if them are associated to some malware sites.
Open the Control Panel (Start > Control Panel) open the Folder Options icon, open the third tab (Something like "Files type"), select the shortcut extention (verify it, mainly are: htm or html) do a click in the "Change" button and select the apropiated program (Usually Internet explorer), apply and close.
FYI, this is a Spanish forum (ES means "ESpañol"), if you want further assistance, please do your next post in this language or you may ask in the english forum news://msnews.microsoft.com/microso...e6.browser
