instalar SP3a de SQL server 2000 en win 2003

Ayuda Hacer una pregunta
Estoy tratando de instalar el SP3 SQL server 2000, de manera remota en un
server con windows 2003 standard. Pero a mitad de instalacion me presenta el
sig. error :
Primero:
"Please wait while gathers information"
Despues :
"Setup was unable to verify the state of the server for an upgrade.
Verify the server is able to start and that you provided a valid sa password
and restart setup"

Me pueden ayudar?

Cuando dices que instalas "de manera remota" a qué te refieres?
