two monitors, two adapters

I have two monitors attached to two video adapters in the same PC.
1. How can I know from my Visual C++ program how many monitors do I actually
have (I want the program to behave differently if only one monitor is
available)?
2. How can I setup de resolution for both adapters/monitors from the C++
program?
