How to edit the look of instruments

Hi All,

I would like to modify some gauges. For example use thinner lines for
the moving ILS glide slope bars in in the CRT instruments and choose a
smaller font for info output there.
How can I do this ?
Are there editing tools out there?
How can I work on the .gau files?
