Advertisement Bars

04/06/2004 - 01:13 por Hugo Colome | Informe spam
Hi. There are 2 advertisement bars that keep on appearing
on my IE6, (top and bottom). I close them but they appear
again (its name is something like "boreaxisdrv" something
like that). I tried uninstalling IE6 and reinstalling it
again, but that doesnŽt work. I also tried uninstalling
it and installing IE6 latest version, but an error
appears saying that I already have a newer version
installed, so the new installer quits. What can I do?!?
Thanks!

Evidently, these bars of tools have been installed by software spyware (malware). It(he,she) uses
the program Ad-aware to eliminate them. You can find Ad-aware in this direction: www.lavasoft.com

The correct link would be... http://www.lavasoft.de/ ;-)

The "bore axis" toolbar is related to Omegasearch malware, it also acts like a browser hijacker redirecting our navigation, but maybe he has more stuff like this in his PC.
A full scan looking for Spyware/Adware/Hijacker will be better:
Download Adaware and the following programs:
CWShredder: http://209.133.47.12/~merijn/files/CWShredder.exe (lastest version is 1.58.0)
Spyboot S&D 1.3: http://www.safer-networking.org/ind...ge=mirrors
Spywareblaster 3.1: http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spy...aster.html

Update Spyboot and Spywareblaster, shutdown the PC and unplug the net line, restart(reboot) the PC, then scan and clean in this order (When a program finish, close it and open the next scanner):
CWShredder
Ad-aware
SpyBot
Open Spywareblater and enable all protection.

Close the programs and reboot your PC again,
Then you can reconnect to the net.
