Que lata. Ahora estoy confundido.

fuera a la version Standard de W2K Server en el uso del switch /3GB y del
/PAE.

Aprecio puedas confirmar si tus experiencias o sugerencias son basadas en el
version Standard del W2K Server?

No, la opción PAE únicamente se puede usar en W2K Advance porque sólo Advance y Datacenter soportan más de 4GB de memoria

La opción /3GB no está soportada para la Standard tampoco, por lo que no lo puedes usar en ese caso

IMPORTANT: These configurations are not supported on Windows 2000 Professional and Windows 2000 Server. These configurations are only made available for testing purposes. Do not use these switches in a production environment unless you are using one of the products in the bulleted list at the top of this section.

The use of the /3GB switch from the Boot.ini file with Windows 2000 Professional or with Windows 2000 Server can give the appearance of a 3 GB range of user-mode memory. However, the memory from 0x80000000 through 0xBFFFFFFF is not usable. Because kernel-mode components are now limited to using from 0xC0000000 through 0xFFFFFFF memory range, developers can test kernel-mode components without having to install Windows 2000 Advanced Server, Windows 2000 Datacenter Server, or the Windows Server 2003 family of products.

Me inquieta que el W2K Server Standard llegue maximo a los 4GB en RAM pero
que las versiones de SQL 2K y Exchange 2K no "puedan" aprovechar tanto este
RAM.

Para concretar, tendre entonces que actualizar, minimo, a la version de
Advance de W2K Server (creo q su limite en RAM es de 8GB) para poder activar
el switch de /3GB o el de /PAE para q asi el SQL 2K Server pueda reconocer
arriba de los 2GB y el Exchange 2K Server pueda reconocer arriba de 1GB?

O existira alguna otra opcion?
