Problemas de OutOfMemoryException

Hola,

Tengo un problema, desde hace un tiempo me a estado saliendo un error en un
gestor que tiene una base de datos SQL 2000, resulta que cuando realizo una
consulta este me arroja un error de OutOfMemoryException,

detalle : System.OutOFMemoryException: Exception of type
System.OutOfMemoryException was thrown.

alguien me puede ayudar con este problema, que debo hacer para solucionar y
a que se debe este mensaje.
