Como la 1245 es muy parecida a la 1240 y Windows 2000 al XP creo que va a
ser muy difícil hacerlo funcionar y como dice el siguiente post la mejor
alternativa es usar una de esas PCMCIA modem card.

I just installed Windows 2000 Professional on my Presario 1240 laptop.
I cannot get my Compaq modem to work. I downloaded the latest Lucent
drivers from http://808hi.com/56K/index.htm for Windows 2000 and it
still won't work. The error that I keep getting is:

"This device is disabled because the firmware of the device did not
give it the required resources. (Code 29)"

You wont..ever. The Presario 1240 needs a BIOS upgrade that'll never
happen as Compaq no longer really support it. During the GHardware
Compatibilty testing phase, when installing from Windows, it tells you
the BIOS is not compatible. You'll also find on a soft boot that it locks
up with glitchy graphics and missing characters on the very first status
bar ( the rectangle block one )then going to a completely blue screen
with black pixels here and there where it finally locks up.

Get the feeling I've been trying?

If you really want to use Win2k get a PCMCIA or USB modem and forget the
internal one.
