Dispositivo UPnP

Ayuda Hacer una pregunta
Estoy usando un broadband router SMC 7004ABR Barricade en el que tengo
activado su funcionamiento UPnP, no obstante el mismo no es detectado. En
WXP+SP2 tengo habilitada, pese a que es riesgoso, la exibición de
dispositivos UPnP en Conexiones de Red.
Consulté en primer lugar al sitio de SMC por este problema , aclarándoles
además que la versión del Firmware era la última por ellos publicada y la
respuesta fue la siguiente:

"There is no problem with the UPnP feature of the SMC7004ABR. As the problem
might be on the operating system , it seem that the particular UPnP service
which is in the operating system is not able to see this device. So for
further assistance , please contact your operating system technical support
and Check if there is any hotfix available to fix this problem."

He buscado en la KB y no encontré datos y en MS Downloads hay disponibles
solo dos programas orientados a desarrollar y testear dispositivos UPnP pero
no encuentro ningún "hotfix" o referencia a incompatibilidad de este router.

¿el firewall que tengas en XP deja pasar el trafico uPnP?
