Hi:

I've recently bought an "XBOX 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows" and no
matter what I've tried, it won't work. The driver (I use the latest version
1.1) doesn't install properly, so I cannot synchronize the controller with
my windows xp sp2 setup. The device works perfectly on another two PCs, so I
know it's not broken. The technical specifications of the PC in which
doesn't work is as follows:

-Mainboard ASUS P5B with the latest official BIOS installed.
-CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 6400 2.13GHz
-Memory 2GB RAM DDR2 667MHz
-Wireless PCI Card DLINK DWL-G520
-Both: Keyboard and Mouse are not wireless (PS/2 Standard)

Software:
-Windows XP SP2 with the latest updates.
-DirectX 9.0c (August 2007 redist)
-Latest Intel INF Driver package for mainboard chipset.

It's not a problem of configuration since I've made it work on another two
computers as I said above. I've found some few same cases over forums on
Internet, but no one gets a solution for the problem. Any hint will be
appreciated.

Thanks in advance, greetings.

Hi

try to boot in safe mode F8 with networking

If the driver works you may have an issue wit a third party service or
applicacion

click on start--run and type msconfig
select services
Hide Microsoft services
disable all

select startup ; disable all services

reboot Pc and test the driver
