Me indica instale la versión mas reciente del analizador
XML.
He bajado "Microsoft XML (MSXML) 3.0 Service Pack 4(SP4)y
sigue sin solucionarse.
¿Alguien me puede decir si ésta versión es la última?.
Gracias y un saludo.

If the key doesn't exist, then that is not what's preventing your from
getting past the Access Denied message.

Try these steps:
1) Your date, year are correct
2) You've chosen a language from Internet Options for Internet Explorer
4) You've emptied your Temporary Internet Files and History.
5) Disable the options "Automatically detect settings" and "Use
automatic configuration script." via Internet Options.
6) Again, in Internet Options, on the Advanced tab, make sure that ,
under Browsing, the box is checked next to " Enable Install on Demand ".
Under Security , make sure that the " Use SSL 2.0 " and " Use SSL 3.0"
boxes are checked.
7) Before going to Windows Update site, have these settings for IE via
Internet Options--click the "Security" tab :
Click the Internet icon. Click Custom Level.
Active X-controls and plug-insENABLE all settings
Cookies--ENABLE all settings
Downloads--ENABLE all settings
Microsoft VMLOW setting
MiscellaneousENABLE : Access data sources across domains
Installation of desk top items
Launching programs or files in an IFRAME
For Software channel permissions, choose
Medium or Low Safety
Submit nonencrypted form data
Userdata persistence
ScriptingENABLE all
When done, click OK ( DO NOT LEAVE THE ABOVE SETTINGS when you are done
with Win Up. Restore them to what you had before )
7) Click the Advanced tab.
Under Browsingmake sure the " Enable Install on Demand " is checked.
Microsoft VM--check the " JIT compiler for V.M. enabled (requires
restart) is checked.
Security check boxes next to :
Enable Profile Assistant
Use Fortezza
Use PCT 1.0
Use SSL 2.0
Use SSL 3.0
Use TLS 1.0
8) Put the Win Up site in your Trusted Zone in IE
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.c...efault.asp
9) TRY USING this URL instead :
https://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft....efault.asp
10) Make sure that your Windows Script, MSXML , and MDAC packages are up
to date. (* Links are at bottom of this post)
11) TEMPORARILY DISABLE your firewall, antivirus, any download " helpers
" pop-up stoppers or internet "speed boosters"... OR ANY SYMANTEC
product (aka Norton).
12) CHECK for a HOSTS file in your WINDOWS root folder (there is a
HOSTS.sam file already there as an example. The actual HOSTS files has
no extension). If there is a numerical reference for any Microsoft site,
delete the entire entry.
13) Upgrade to IE 6.

* Do Windows Script updates in this order

Windows Script 5.6
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/d...webdev.asp
VB Script Update
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie...efault.asp
JScript 5.6 Security Patch for Windows 98, Me and NT 4
http://microsoft.com/downloads/deta...2221B&
displaylang=en

MSXML (Microsoft XML Parser) 3.0 Service Pack 2
***** Ojo el último es Service Pack 4
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...-F8516C72F
AC1&displaylang=en

To determine which version of MDAC is on your system, look here :
C:\Program Files\Common Files\SYSTEM\MSADC
Right click on the MSADCE.dll, choose Properties, click the Version tab.

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/d...access.asp
(links will probably wrap...copy and paste into your browser)

Now, two questions
a) Have you reinstalled ME over itself ? ( over the existing
installation of ME )
b) Do you get the prompt for a password at startup and hit Cancel to
proceed to Windows ?

I have been getting the Access Denied message when the
Windows ME site attempts an automatic update for some
time.I'm sure Windows Update did work when I first
installed Windows ME.

I have recently tried to resolve this issue by following
the steps that Microsoft give in the Windows Update
Troubleshooter, but I am unable to find the
key "NoWindowsUpdate". I can navigate successfully to
the"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINES". Has it been removed? Or is it
not clearly visible to a novice, like me? Microsoft
Knowledge Base Article 228548 is too complicated for me to
attempt.

Any suggestions?
