Autoplay in WinXP pro

I have an exe that I would like to play when the cd is inserted. The
problem is, in order to activate Autoplay on my cdrom drive, I have to
select the option from a tab in properties for the cd player.

The drop-down listbox and the selections under it do not have a simple
"run exe" option. There are options for various types of content in the
drop-down listbox but no simple EXE! What can I do? which do I choose? I
have tried "Restore Defaults" but that doesn't work either!

Also can a file like a SWF file that is linked to the Flash player be
made to bring up the flash player and run automatcall via the
Autorun.inf file?
by the way I do have a autorun.inf file on the disk.

Hi Paul, maybe you can use a system restore. Another way is reinstall
windows but don't format.

Greetings,
