El servidor DNS no puede abrir Active Directory.

Desde primera hora no podemos acceder desde los puestos al dominio, y
cuando lo hacemos no podemos usar las carpetas compartidas ni SQL
Server. El servidor es un Windows 2003 SBS Premium.

En el visor de sucesos veo:

Tipo de suceso: Error
Origen del suceso: DNS
Categoría del suceso: Ninguno
Id. suceso: 4000
Fecha: 22/11/2004
Hora: 16:01:08
Usuario: No disponible
Equipo: SERVERLN
Descripción:
El servidor DNS no puede abrir Active Directory. Este servidor DNS está
configurado para obtener y usar información del directorio para esta
zona y no puede cargarla sin él. Compruebe que Active Directory está
funcionando correctamente y vuelve a cargar la zona.

¿Alguien puede dar alguna orientación sobre cómo solucionar el problema?

Haz lo siguiente:
En la ocnfiguración IP, propiedades avanzadas, solapa DNS, asegúrate de que además de la ip del servidor DNS tienes relleno el campo "sufijo DNS", y en él te pone el nombre del dominio dominioln.local. También deben estar marcadas las dos casillas que hay debajo del sufijo.
En una ventana de comando tecleas
IPCONFIG /REGISTERDNS
NET STOP NETLOGON
NET START NETLOGON
Y tras unos minutos compruebas si te funciona correctamente.
