Intellimouse Driver

01/12/2003 - 18:52 por Night_Seer | Informe spam
Quick question...I just updated to Windows XP from 98, and everything is
great except one thing. I had to download a new driver for my
intellimouse, for windows XP, but now my options for my extra buttons
are severely limited. I used to be able to set my extra buttons to F
keys, which helped a lot in AutoCAD, but with the new driver, it only
gives me a very limited amount of buttons. Does anyone know of a
modified or hacked set of intellimouse drivers that let me set the extra
buttons to anything I want? Thanks in advance.

P.S. I have crossposted this to all newsgroups I thought were relevant,
but am only subscribed to microsoft.public.hardware. Please either
leave in the crossposts, or reply to me in that NG to make sure I can
see your reply, I would really appreciate it.

The problem is related to the Intellipoint drivers. In version 5, Microsoft
has removed serveral features/setting. If you can, try to find version 4 of
the drivers.

Yves, I have the same peoblem. I have the Wireless IntelliMouse
Explorer (without any number; guess it is 1), and it have been laying
around, but I started using it a few days ago, installing 5.2 drivers,
only to discover taht I could not used the extra buttons for what I
wanted. I will look for 4 too (thanks!), but wanted to ask why in the
world MS would take away functionality (if you know)?
