Cuando voy a instalar windowsxp sp2 me da el siguente mensaje Error en el programa de instalación de Service Pack 2 No se puede leer o escribir en la base de datos y no puedo instalarlo ¿qué puedo hacer?

al momento aver completado la descarga del SP2 muestra el código de error: 8024402C y requiere que vuelva a bajar la actualización, que puedo hacer??
